Daniel’s Fire Roast #1 Salsa
at 2006 America’s Best

For the second consecutive year, no other company in the country won as many awards for salsa as Daniel’s Fire Roast in this competition. This brings the total number of national awards to 22 in less than two years.

The Anaheim Marriot was the site of the 2006 America’s Best Professional Food Competition Awards Ceremony on Friday, August 4th, 2006. Drawing more than 900 entries from across the nation this professional food competition remains one of the largest in the United States.

 In spite of the intense competition, Daniel’s Fire Roast racked up an additional 7 awards in the salsa categories.

Daniel’s Fire Roast Number One Award Winner at 2005 America’s Zesty Best! 

The America’s Zesty Best Food Competition was held at the Orange County Fair Grounds in southern California on Friday, June 17th, 2005. This contest was the largest spicy food competition in the USA drawing more than 750 entries from across the country, all competing to be called America’s Zesty Best. 

With television cameras rolling, Daniel made an amazing 10 trips to the winners’ podium to accept awards for Daniel’s Fire Roast! No other company in the country won as many awards as Daniel’s Fire Roast! This brings our 2005 national award count to 15, including five 2005 Scovie Awards, which was also more awards for salsa than any other company in that contest.

Fiery-Foods & BBQ Magazine has just announced the results of the 2005 Scovie Awards. This international competition is widely regarded as one of the largest hot and spicy food competition in the country. Daniel’s Fire Roast walked away with an amazing 5 Scovie Awards! No other salsa company in the country won more awards for salsa than Daniel’s Fire Roast!

Daniel’s Fire Roast dominated the hotly contested Chipotle Salsa category with 1st and 3rd place finishes. Also awarded were 1st and 2nd place respectively in the Mild and Hot categories. In addition, with so many salsas on the market, a new Unique Salsa category was added this year and Daniel’s Fire Roast earned 2nd place.

This is the second trip to the Scovie Awards for Daniel’s Fire Roast. Dan Matson, founder and owner of Daniel’s Fire Roast, began his professional career after winning the First Place Amateur Scovie Award in March 2004. “I am very pleased to have had such a strong showing in my first professional Scovie Awards. To be recognized by peers in my industry is a real honor. To compete against the best in the business and come away with five awards is fantastic.” Matson continues, “We are striving to make the finest quality gourmet salsas that are unlike anything else currently on the shelves.” 

The Scovie Awards are named after Wilbur Scoville. Scoville invented the Scoville Scale in 1912 to measure the heat of chile peppers and The Scovie Awards have since become the criterion for superiority in the fiery foods industry.
